Restoring an old cage.

Hello, I want to restore this bird cage Ive had for a long time.

It's a great cage I used once, but upgraded to an even bigger one, while, the paint still looks good but it does have some minor rust at the joints (which happens easily over time)

How would I repaint it just the rust for it to be safe for a new bird that desperately needs rehoming(hes a plucker)
This pics show the good condition it is.

This are the rust pics

Use a non lead - rust over spray paint and let cure for a couple weeks or get a body shop to redo the whole thing with powder coat.
