CL Cage, What do you think?

Double stack bird cage, large/med. birds

I talked to the lady, she said she would sell it to me for $50. There is rust on the bottom cage. She sent me pictures of the rust. She said she had a lori in the bottom cage an would pressure wash it to get the poop off. That is how it got rusty. So I am not sure. I would put Abbey in the top and if we do decide to add another bird I would have a cage for it after we fixed the rust problem.

Do you think the size would be good for Abbey?

I think the size would be great for her. How big is the bar spacing? $50 isn't bad enough if you spend a little cleaning it up. You should be able to scrub that area clean and spray paint it. There are some posts on do it yourself on here.

If you do sand it down, power wash etc. and then paint you need to get the right paint that will not harm a bird.

I've no experience with this type of cage but was wondering, would a bird feel safe enough not being able to get up high as they instinctively like to do?

I have that unit. Its really big for a double stack. Its a bit large in bar spacing for a conure. I have a ZOn in the top and a grey in the bottom and soon to be two greys instead when we move things. You can take the center pan and grate out and make it ONE large refirigerator size cage which we did for a temp cage for Calypso at one time until we got the double Macaw cage. Its a nice cage but way overkill for a conure. I had the option to buy two when I got mine used. I shouuld have. I paid over two hundred...used...for the one. Id buy that one in a nano second. Repainting is easy.
