Help with cage set up!

I put together Olive's cage tonight. She wont be home for 9 more days, but I couldnt wait. And I wanted to make sure to get it set up nice for her.

Below is how I have it so far. It looks pretty empty, I know. I have 3 more toys but I wanted to get some new perches to replace the cheapy ones that came with the cage. I was thinking of 3 perches and one of those rope boings...would that be too many perches or not enough?

What else do you think I should get for her? I really need some suggestions, because I really dont know what I am doing...or how many toys are enough or not enough.

I also feel like the toys that I got her are too small? The woman at the store said the small toys would work fine...but they seem too small.

I definitely want to make or get a foraging toy also, I found a really cute one at petsmart the other day.

So...suggestions? help? Please :)

A few more perches like rope and natural wooden ones, maybe a bathing dish, water bottle, more ssssshreddable toys. Climbing net and perches for the outside of the cage. I'm sure you will get lots of suggestions.

Suggestions are good, because I dont know what to get!

I was standing in the bird store staring at the wall o toys for like 10 minutes because I didnt know what to do or get.

I saw they have these colored chains that I want to get. Since the cage will be up against a wall (and there is nothing on said wall) I am going to string them from the cage to the wall and back and all over. That should be fun. :)

I just hope she likes the toys I got her. I tried to get one of everything. Wood, toys with bells, stuff she can shread, leather, plastic toys...I think I have just about everything. But I need more!

O, and I totally love the pineapple that I got...because she is a Pineapple GCC! HA!

Don't stress too much about it.... you'll fill it up in no time.

I had the HQ Flight cage for about a year and I rearranged it all the time... I have a few pics but I doubt they'd help.... Best advice... get up on a chair & look at the cage from the Top, Down too see what your fid will poop on!

So long as your bird still has room to flap and hop around when there are a variety of perches, toys, food dishes the fid should be happy..

With my HQ flight I kinda liked to lay it out in levels... the top level were comfortable perches and favored toys.
The middle level was food with a grooming perch to stand on & natural wood perches and mostly side mount toys.
The bottom level is just a few side mount toys and one or two dowels or easy to clean hard wood perches....

Open spaces are GOOD.

There aren't any magic #'s as far as how many of each thing... because you will rotate them around. Sometimes more, sometimes less of each.

Congrats on the fid!

Peanutbutter - First off...I love your name! I <3 Peanutbutter.
Second..I LOVE your layer idea! That makes so much sense! And thank you for the picture, just that one suggestion helped a TON!

Usually, are the food and water dishes across from each other? Or next to each other? I have heard from many that GCCs enjoy dunking their food, so placing the water and food across the cage from each other is the best idea.

Well, no offense, but it kinda boring.... But, IT'S HUGE!!!! That is amazing! I think maybe some rope perches, a couple wooden perches wood be nice, too. Also, something I have for KeeWee, my Quaker, is a perch like Corner Bird Rest Shelf. He is ALWAYS on it. Mine is a little bit different, it is a square and it's black. I would just put a couple more toys in and it will be fine. After all, the most beautiful thing in the cage , is the parrot itself...

P.S. Post pics of your baby when she/he comes home!!!
