Safe for birds?

Inspired by Pippy's pine ledges for her Greys, I've done an eBay search for little ledges. I've found a wooden ledge that might be okay, but I just want to ask everyone's opinion since it's made with 'small pets' (i.e. gerbils, rats, etc) in mind

And a 'lava' ledge? Any ideas?

Apparently it's made of punice stone. Safe for 'tiels? Either of them?

My new handicapped parrot!

this has some info about Pippy's perches for her Greys. I like the first one. I am not a fan of pumice stone. That is just me though. I am sure someone will have more info on them.

Go for the pine one, it's kinder to little feet! That Leap 'n' Ledge is the smaller version of the type I use. I buy the Sleep 'n' Ledge.

Both are on sale at Pets At Home so save yourself the postage and buy from there if you have a branch near you

Store locator - Pets at Home

I'm not sure why they aren't shown on their website because they definitely sell them but anyway, this is the Sleep-n-Ledge..

And here it is for you guys over there!

Thanks Pippy! The Leap-n-Ledge I was going to buy as a 'trial' but I think Angel at least would appreciate a flat surface XD *Goes to look on eBay*

Yeah, unfortunatly I can't get to a Pets at Home here ;_; Back in unitown I had easy access to one (and got the Chili egg biscuits and corn 'n' herb rolls on sale from the Natruals range that my 'tiels just love destroyig!) but alas, such is the way of someone with no car!

Ah well at least you have an alternative source, if you just do a Google search you'll find loads of online retailers in the UK

XD Just bought one off of eBay, only 58p more than I'd pay at Pets at Home! I need to decide if it's going inside oru outside the cage now!

No-one have an opinion on the lava/punice perch?

I use lots of pine shelves and stuff like that for my chins and birds, they work great! I have quite a few different things like that for sale that birds and chins both enjoy at my chinchilla store, Paco loves shelves to put his goodies on. The lava perches are perfectly safe, they are just pumice with color. They may not last long for a heavy chewer but are good for wearing down beaks.

You can also make your own, just like you would a wood perch. Hanger bolts, washers, wing nuts and pine from home depot.
