Research heaps on the net, probably still settling in so a bit afraid. Sit near the cage and talk softly to it, try and feed it through the cage and then maybe with the door open. Once it trusts you it will probably turn into the fun hyper bird they are known for lol. Just alot of patience is required. Caiques are so cute, i love the black headed ones. Caique owners will soon show up.

hi..and welcome! i just became a caique owner in november. however, i knew alot about my caique before i got him. i would suggest that you take him to an avian vet as soon as possible to make sure he/she's healthy. and you can also find out if it's a boy/girl and maybe how old it is? that information is very helpful.

right now, just give him some time. and you can also get alot of information on the web. and on this forum by reading previous threads.

they are wonderful pets! good luck!

How old is the bird? What is his former home like? I am thinking he is just scared and needs some time to settle in and get used to his new surroundings. Congrats on your new bird, tho! I have two black heads and I love them to pieces
