Question Does your Caique talk???

Hi I am just curious - Yummy is now 8 months old and has been with us for one month. Do caiques talk - human speak that is??? Not that talking is that important in the big picture - I am just curious and would love to hear what Yummy's voice would sound like if he would talk. Peeka is 7 months old (SIE) and he does not say anything yet. Both birds are fairly quiet - but Yummy will let you know when he is feeling ignored or neglected - he can be rather loud at times - but it is a cute loud not obnoxious loud. Yummy also does not imitate any sounds specifically yet - do you think that he will one day? Thanks in advance for any stories or input you may have to offer me!

My caique does talk. Although she at this time only says "step up" they are not known to be huge talkers. They are known to the clown's & hyper active baby's in the avian world.

Both my caiques talk. They have funny little fast paced voices. Here is a vid of my male talking- I have no clue what he is saying tho.

yes, caiques are not known to be "great" talkers if they do talk at all. but i've heard from owners who's caiques can talk. you have to listen real close at first because of their little muffled speech. they are great imitators of whistles tho. i got bailey when he was 5 mos. old and within 3 weeks he was doing the "wolf whistle".

Yes Lu talks...but it is more of a low gravely voice...sounds more mechanial than clear as an ekkie or greys would be.

Hee hee. Believe it or not, he is talking! I know at one point he says that 'the birdie is out' and 'pretty birdie' but beyond that I can't understand what he is saying, he says it too fast.

Thanks all - Yummy does not talk however he must have learned the beep of a smoke detector when the batteries are low - he does this ear piercing beep and I went all around the house checking the detectors!! It has taken me several days to figure out what was causing this sound!
