Lots of Caiques here......

Hi.....My name is Julie and I am new to the group. I specialize in caiques ( ky-eek ). I have 16 breeding pairs of Caiques plus 5 pets. Both Black Head and White Belly.

I have also raised lots of baby Caiques from day one.

I have other types of birds also, but Caiques stole my heart back in the late 1980's and I have been fancinated every since. They are my passion.

I have been involved with birds for 25 years and own a Wholesale baby bird business. I have raised babies of many types of birds. I am also Founder and President of a bird club in my local area. ( State of Washington )

I love to meet new people interested in birds and share and learn more about all types of birds.

caiques

Hi, my name is Nadia. I saw that you have LOTS of caiques. I fell in love with them as well. I am looking for 2 male WB caiques and 1 black capped (dna unknown) I have been wanting to get into the bird business, but I have not met many people willing to help as far as giving information. So, I have been doing a lot of reading. I have an African grey, 2 red fronted macaws, dbl yellow head amazon, and 3 caiques. They are all my pets. I would really love to breed caiques. I have found that they are extremely smart outgoing creatures. They want to be included in all activities and will pay attention to your every move! If you still have caiques available, would you please let me now your prices and availability?

Thank you.

Love those caiques!

Hi, Julie.

My name is Teresa, and I live in Seattle. I recently became a "bird person," and adopted 2 little budgies. They are adorable, but not "cuddly" like the caiques are. Where in Washington State are you located?
16 pair of caiques must sure keep you busy!!! I know someone who has a pair of caiques, and is trying his hand at breeding them.

...Teresa

Hey, all you caique lovers out there! I too am a caique fanatic, being the lucky owner of a second hand caique named Higgins. In your opionon, which is more hyper, the black capped or the white bellied? I have heard the WBC are more laid back.

My name is David Christensen from Country Manor Pet Therapy we use all our babies for pet therapy. Our Program has helped many elderly residents cut back on their Meds thus in turn our babies become well socialized. We Breed both Black Headed and White Bellied and many other parrots. Many people say Green Wing Macaws are better then Scarlets. That might be true if they are not well socialized as babies. Our Scarlets are just as loving as the Green Wings, we warn people that they need to keep up on the social skills because between 4-12 month is where they learn to be loving or All I have to do it but that big beak out there and I get left alone. In short with almost all parrots it is how they are handled and do they learn to trust you.

Welcome to all of you! I was recently in the USA and got to play with a few caiques. I fell in love with them, they are adorable little birds! Unfortunately for me, they are very expensive in Australia-about $5000 so unless I win Lotto................ And we are not allowed to import birds, otherwise I would have bought one over there.

Hi!

Is that how you pronounce caique, then? (ky-eek)? That is good to know! I've never heard anyone pronounce it like that, and I've only seen it written. I've always said "Kak", but I didn't figure that could be right.

Welcome aboard!

Yup, its Ky-eek. It used to be Kike, but that is errrr, not politcally correct, so its Ky-eek.....

Well, see? I learn something new every day!

I've never had the pleasure of meeting a caique, but I hear they're wonderful little birds.
