Playing with toys

Well weve had tookie for almost 2 weeks now and he his personality is really starting to show. Now he will get hyper and play out of his cage, wrestling with us, paper or toys. But in his cage he is quite quiet. Ive only seen him play with his cage toys once! for 2 seconds! He had four cage toys that he dosent ever touch. Why would he not?

maybe he doesn't know how to play with toys! Many birds have to be taught.

Or maybe he just doesn't like those toys!

My BHC will leave some of her toys alone for quite a long time, and then one day she will suddenly decide to start playing with them. I don't know why, either. It helps to try moving the toys to different locations in the cage. Maybe changing where each toy hangs will get tookie interested! Mmr has a good suggestion, try mixing in some new toys with the toys that are already there. Sometimes they can be particular about what they want to play with. If anything, take the toys out that he doesn't use now, replace them with new ones, and then try mixing the old toys back in in a few weeks, maybe he will have changed his mind! Good luck :)
