My new baby!

Brought him home tonight- he's sweet and cuddly. Almost 4 yrs old. I've wanted a caique for quite a while, and now he's here!

Meet Nokomis! I named him after a place in Minnesota, where I'm from.

Thanks everyone! Yep- he's a doll.

He was very attached to his old mama, and is pretty timid right now. He was all over me at her house and very cuddly. Now he just wants to sit still on my shoulder. He will take food from me, and play a bit, but not much. He's kind of in slow motion.

It can't be fun for him in quarantine, hearing so many new noises all by himself. We go back there at least every 2 hrs and hold him for about 1/2 hr. I'm trying not to overwhelm him, but I don't want him to be lonely, either.

One thing is a little strange...
He can perch fine on our fingers, but he's having a hard time gripping hard onto our clothing when he wants to walk up to our shoulders. Sometimes he slips a bit, which makes him even more nervous.

Poor little guy- everything is strange to him.
