White bellied caique baby
I have a female white bellied caique baby that is fully weaned and ready for a new home. She is very friendly and playful. She has been hand raised in our smoke free, loving home. Please email with ... $1,600.00 15-Jul-09

I dont know if that is the average price, but at my local pet store they were trying to sell one for $3000, and thats ridiculous. $1,600 seems like a much more reasonable price than that. but maybe it's above average price, too.

Boy - most bird prices have come down a bit. I believe that one of our local breeders sells her white belly babies for $900 or $950. And sometimes the prices are a little higher here because we are a little more limited on local breeders. I would have never been able to get my caiques if I paid that much - sounds pretty steep to me.

1,600 sounds really high. But maybe that's the going rate in that area. Around here (Midwest) and in Illinios Black headed sell for more than the white bellies but average is around $750.

There are breeders on "Up at Six".com who sell them for as little as $750, or on BirdBreeders.com, as well.

Those are pretty far away from me, so if I got another it would be local so my baby wouldn't have to fly. Around here, babies are from $900-1100.

Of course, any pet or bird shop (where I wouldn't buy anyway) is going to be much more.

In Canada, that's the average price for a white bellied. The breeders sell them anywhere from $1600 to $3000, most around the $1700 mark. Much more expensive than in the states.

Around my area WBCs are also between $600 & $900. If you are allowed to carry them across the border, why not wait to you find yourself in the States and then just drive one home with you. Or have one shipped to you.

Yeah, most birds being sold in Canada are much more expensive than in the states. Sometimes by hundreds of dollars.
