Canary Favoring Leg
I have a yellow canary named Mango. Three months after I purchased him he started favoring one leg, the banded leg. I noticed a red line running down his middle toe like an artery or vein, or something worse that wasn't in the other good leg. So I took him to the vet and the vet cut the ban off his leg and in the process he started bleeding and almost bled out. The vet did a good job but I wonder if he cut my bird, he claims that the ban caused the bleeding. Anyway, I took him home and the leg was fine. I took him back a week later for a check up and the vet said the leg was perfect.
So, two weeks later, he's favoring the leg again! Now The a red line is running up his leg, which I noticed before and the vet checked out the leg and never said nothing, but its not as pronounced as in his good leg, anyway. But has anyone gone through this before? I can't afford fifty dollars visits to the vet! Any ideas? |

The line very well may be the artery. Is the foot fine? What kind of perches is he on? Do you have different diameters for him to choose from? Is it only one time of the day or all the time that he favors the foot?
