Zerba Finch and Society Finch

Other than the fact they are 2 different types of finches, what are their differences? Do they have different personality or would cause a different reason to pick one type over the other? I know you can tell gender with zebras (excluding some varieties), but you can't tell gender on society finches. Also, from my reading, society finches make better parents than zebra finches.

I find a lot of information about breeding these two types of finches, but I am not interested in that. I am more interested in what type of a pet they would make. Do they eat different things? Will 2 be fine together or do you need more?

I want to give finches a consideration, but so far getting a budgie is winning. But best to find out all I can about them to make the best choice for me.

I have both. they are pretty much the same except my zebra is more vocal and more aggressive. they mix well with other birds but they let you know who is boss when they have to. is you want a bird that you can hold and pet budgie is better than a zebra or a society. but i love mine and they eat good. it is fun to watch them eat. i feed my seeds, unsweetened applesauce, eggs, apples, shredded carrots, millet , and of course they have their cuttlebone. they are great little birds and my zebra starts his chriping bright and early every morning so be prepared for that. you can get both zebras and societies they house well together. mine do fine they are best friends.
