Suggestions for toys Canaries and Finches will actually play with?

Are there any toys that your Canaries actually play with? My Shakespeare has a really cute toy, small with beads and bell on the bottom, but I've literally only seen him touch it ONE time. I would love to find something he would actually play with, whether bought or something I can make.

I am going to be getting some finches in the next couple of weeks and wonder if they are as particular as canaries about their toys.
So, if you've got suggestions for Canarie and Finch toys, please enlighten me!

Tina

Small twigs and clean straw. Finches and canaries are happy little workers more than players. It is not always about what we would call fun... it is about enrichment.

Also a water tray for bathing and possibly a sandbox!

Finch Toys? is a pretty good article I found!

Mine always liked stringy things. And swings. Mostly like Tina said they are more busy than it is play. Stringy things and chewing on them is a nesting behavior. A small bundle of frsh hay would be a good busy and edible "toy".

Thanks y'all! So basically, canaries and finches like stringy and/or haylike things to chew on. Maybe I can try one of those weird looking pacifier things that look like little red balls with broomy stuff hanging underneath it. I'll definitely try the pinata if y'all think that will be hit, and some of those little parakeet balls.

Thanks!

My finches and canaries love swings!! I've gotten them those little plastic swings with mirrors you can find at any pet store, and they love 'em!
