Unless you are willing to cull/kill any offspring that aren't showing the one trait that you are trying to breed for, inbreeding of any sort can be dangerous and unhealthy for the birds.
Line breeding is very complicated and you need to join a breeder group such as the National Finch and Softbill Society to find a larger group of people who can explain it to you. While I have had it explained, I am not willing to go to the extremes that are needed to properly do so.
