Missy kicked one of her eggs out of the nest.
When I got up today to remove Missy's eggs, (she has been sitting on them for 2 and a half weeks now and they are infertile) one of them was gone! (there were only two) Upon closer investigation I found the little shell all the way over at the other side of the cage, in the back corner. Is it possible that she carried her egg that far and then dropped it? I just can't imagine how she could have gotten it that far away from her nest.
Is this normal behavior? And how did she do it? |

I do not see how she could have carried it that far. Is it possible that after she dropped it she rolled the egg? If she is getting rid of the eggs then she may be done with them. As for normal I am not sure. I know that many parrots will eat the eggs if they are infertile when they are done with them. This way they get back some of the calcium that they put out. I am not sure what finches and canaries do though.
