Smile Canaries and Red Rumped Parakeets

Hi, can anyone tell me whether red rumped parakeets can be housed with canaries in a medium sized outdoor aviary. We have over the years lost most of our canaries and just have two left and with them we have three very small quails. My husband has just come home with two red rumped parakeets and I would like to put them in the aviary but I am not sure whether they would be aggresive to the canaries. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I would not do this. Parrots can easily kill canaries and finches. So unfortunatly I would have to say no for their safety.

We do not put our red rumps with any other birds. They can be very aggressive. I would not take the chance.

Thanks very much. I think we will keep them separated. We do have the provision in out aviary to put a divider up so I think we will go down that route

The breeder I'm getting my red rump from has an separate avery from the canaries. I asked him why have you separated the them, he replied they will kill the canaries. So my advice is the same as the other members.
