try to keep them under a light and see what happens...I would say he must have just been very tired...but ur instinct is the best one cuz u know them best...but i would say give them 2 hours at least during the day and observe if its repeated then just kind of call a vet to check in with the behavior!!!!

My instinct says sick and he should see a vet. Open mouth breathing when not overheated is a sign of an ill finch.
