Just wondering if I should be giving my little guys some more exercise. They got out once and it was stressful to recapture them. Thoughts?

I dont have finches - but my thoughts would be that if you want to let them out to fly around to close them in a small room and let them out, and then when you want them to go back in put their favourite treat in their cage to get them to go back themselves? That might make it less stressful on them..

I have cats so that's not an option. Mine are in a big cage. They fly all over inside of it.
