A shame it can't be a little longer...length is more important than height for finches.Number of birds will depend on which species you intend to place in there.I would have thought half a dozen zebras or societies would be happy in that space...better a few happy birds than a lot of birds with stress.

finches in nursing homes
Hi, I used to have a medical job where I had to visit all the nursing homes in Md. Almost everyone had a finch aviary. The elderly loved it. They would pull their chairs up and sit and watch for hours.
The bottoms had corn cob. Food and water was kept at ground level for easy care. There were immatation vines and tree branches. There were at least 4 covered nests. I would say that 6 zebra, spice or society would be great. Some had whydahs and they were beautiful. Every aviary did have one pair of button quail or diamond doves that kept busy on the bottom. Try to visit a couple area homes. |
