I can't reason with Missy!
I have tried talking to her and explaining the dangers of laying so many clutches in one year, but she won't listen! Missy is my female canary. I have tried decreasing her light to 10 hours of light a day, I have tried seperating her from her mate not only phyisically but visually as well, I have taken all of her nesting material away, and yet she is still sitting in her food dish and waddling! I just know that she is going to lay another clutch! She is even pricking up her tail, like she is ready to mate.
If she has another clutch, this will be her fifth! I don't know what else to do! Any suggestions? I do give her a high calcium diet and lots of fresh vegetables and fruit. |

I think visual and physical separation might not be enough, as long as she can hear his singing.
