Losing feather on top of his head!
Chipper, my male canary is losing a lot of his feathers on top of his head, and only on top of his head. It is down to his scalp. He doesn't seem to be molting. I did recently take my two canaries from two cages to one, but I leave the door open all day long, and I never see them peck and their cage is right next to me. (I don't work, so I am with them all day long) They are male and female, and have mated before but are not mating now because of light adjustments. My room has also changed temperatures, it has gotten cold outside so the temperature has dropped in my room by about 15 degrees.
I also got a new parrotlet, who is in a cage about 20 feet away. I have it in quarintine. He acts ok but has lost more than half of his feathers on his head, what could be wrong? |

1. 20 feet away is not quarantine. Quarantine is in a seperate room at least, need to have a seperate air supply for a real quarantine.
2. I would seperate the canaries again, it does sound like a plucking issue. If it doesn't improve after seperating them, see a vet.
