Christie your birds are both adorable & beautiful!

You obviously love birds. I would love to have a bird or two loose in the house, but I am afraid I am too much of a coward about the doodle problem all over everything. How on earth do you manage it?!

I guess if you scratch me deeply enough, I am a bird lover but a dog lover at bottom. I cannot imagine life without my Lab. I hate to brag (not really : ), but my girl is the best dog in the world! She is just absolutely PERFECT in every way! She is my third Lab. My last one passed shortly before his sixteenth birthday. I still grieve for him.

My girl seems fine with the new canary, too. She is curious about him from time to time, and she sniffs at his cage a little in a very soft and gentle way. Sometimes she looks at me whence he is singing as if to say, "Mom, that silly little feathered thing is singing, AGAIN!" Then she rolls over and goes back to sleep. : )

I love dogs too, but I currently don't have any. When I do get a dog, the birds will only be allowed out when the dog is outside or locked in a different room. Dogs and birds are a dangerous mix.

Thank you though! I am a bit partial to my flock. I have 8 gouldian chicks right now too. The tiels and ringneck usually stay on their cage areas and play area. There is a carpet down in that area that cleans easily, the biggest mess around the room is the food that gets flung and the feathers. All of the adult birds are beginning to molt.

You are welcome. : ) My floor, too, is looking a bit messy from all of the feathers that have begun to drop in the last two days. My canary gets seed on the floor as well, but he does not really fling it. He seems to lose some of it in the process of eating it. I have always been something of a neat freak, so the feathers and seed on the floor has been a little bit of a stressor, but not enough for me not to want the canary! : ) Animals, like children, can be messy, but at least we do not have to put braces on their teeth and send them off to university! : )

Cheers!

lol so true!!

I find that if I have the time to run at least a dust buster around the cage area daily, it really helps. There isn't much you can do about the seeds though, just be glad that the canary isn't like my tiels, they decide to throw seed at times!
