Khaska hit by car today

Khaska, my roommate's cat was hit by car today....the neighbor saw it happen and the driver did stop and he did come get us. Khaska is currently under the neighbor's house and I can't get to her. They said she did run from the scene. I did spot her, and she is injured. Driver stated he slammed on brakes to avoid hitting her. At least he did stop to notify us. I took water to her, but no food. I want her to come out. I can see her, but I can't reach her. And the crawl space is too small for my fluffy goodness. I will continue to go over there every half hour. Neighbor thinks she may have a broken leg. God I hope not!
So cross fingers and say a prayer that I can get her out to check her out.

Oh man! That sux! Poor kitty! Do everything you can to get her out. Cat's can sucumb to stress alone, not to mention blood loss and internal injuries. If you have to get A.C. out to get her please do. She really really needs emergency veterinary attention. A broken leg is probably the least of her problems.
I'll be praying for her!!!

I wouldn't have our local Animal Control come out here to pick up a dead snake! Yeah, that bad. Roomie is over there now trying to get to her. Friend enroute that might can squeeze in crawl space.

Terri, I hope it all works out O.K. for poor Khaska. Poor you, too. It must be terribly stressful along with all of the worry.

Khaska is at the vet's office now. She came out on her own, she is walking w/o a problem. She has swelling around the neck, road rash to the face, behind the ears but she seems ok....other than scared tooooooo death. Vet left for lunch so they are going to call us back.

I'm so glad the news is sounding a little better. I can't wait to see the next update. Hopefully she will be home and licking her wounds while Scarley waits on her and Scarlet nurses her back to health.

Awwwww poor kitty!!! Glad she is with the vet now.

I know how this is. About two months ago my husband came home for lunch and found my beautiful boy Sammie dead in the road. Someone had hit him and didn't even stop to tell us. Sad thing is if 20 cars go down this road a day, that's a lot but most of the people who drive thru here treat it like a freeway. I miss him everyday!
