Unhappy Getting attached to this kitten but can't keep it..

My brother brought home a kitten from his friends whose cats mated.
Well, my brother begged our parents if he can bring one home. Mom was against it but Dad does not want it for financial reasons and because we have lots of birds. I was against it for money problems but mostly because of my birds! And the fact that my dog is really jealous and gets nippy with the kitten especially if kitty runs away from him. My brother is in debt and he sure can't pay for the needs/shots of this kitten as this kitten would be his.

He brought kitty home 3 days ago even though the parents disproved. He was relentless to give it away and everyone was upset. We can't afford it, does not fit in our home, and it has "shifted" the balance of the house.

Since these past days, I have grown really close to the kitten. Since my brother is out 23 hours of the day (working, hanging out the friends, etc), my mom and mostly I, have taken care of it. Cats aren't up there for my favorite pet (still love 'em though) but this cat is soo sweet.
She always comes up to my chest and rubs her head and whole body on my face/head and sleeps on my chest/shoulder.
I cry a lot because I know she has to go. Every time I cry she comes up on me/chest and licks the tears away. Like right now I'm crying and she is sleeping on my chest.

I'm so mad at my brother. He knew we couldn't keep it yet brought it home. My father is giving him until the end of the week to give it back or to bring it to a local pet store that does all the shots/spaying from a vet and the store wants kittens to sell. They say they do not euthanize so that's good.

But I'm still so upset..I hardly cry and always get easily attached to animals. I didn't even cry when I lost my 2 grandmothers. (still felt sad..but i mostly just love my immediate family and animals for whatever reason i guess because i'm around them/love them the most)

:(

Unhappy

Cats have a terrible way of tugging at your heart strings and not letting go. I wasn't really a cat person before either. We had a cat that my parents adopted to control the mouse problem. Well, he actually just played with them, and they got away without a scratch. Still, although my mom was passionately a "Dog person." Elliot caught her heart, so he became family. We know how it works.

My Peter knows when I am upset or in pain. He responds the same way. I'm his momma, and you are momma to this little kitten too. I wish I could do something to take away the pain you are going thru. I've been there.

Is there any way you can spread the news, put up flyers in vet clinics, pet stores and animal shelters? I am sure you would feel a whole lot better knowing where the kitten is going.

Good luck, and I'm so sorry.
