You threw her outside for bringing you a mouse? Really? Why would you do that? I think it is hard for people not to talk about the nature of cats when you seem to be punishing her for doing her job.

Toungue-in-cheek an all, but when a predator brings you the catch it is a sign of respect and love. It is a shame for the cat when the person doesn't understand this and worse when the cat is treated poorly because of it.

I'm with you Muchi, one of our ancient tom cats used catch mice, eat most of it and leave the head on the front mat. Almost as moose hunters keep the moose head for mounting and putting on the wall. We used to joke about a small spot on the wall down low with a collection of mouse heads hung for Sam (the cat) to boast about.

I have the same problem with my Kaytie( mainecoon), Except.... Not mice.

Gecko's!!!

I know they dont hurt, arnt venomous or anything like that BUT Im, to say the least, SCARED of them......... wich is why we got her in the first place(because she was a hunter), as at our old house they were EVERYWHERE and I mean EVERYWHERE!!!
To the point where I would not go wash up or cook or eat, cos they were in the kitchen!!

I Never scald her for it or kick her out once she catches them, I just run n hide (like a lil girl lol ) But she incists on bringing them to me, and let them go n catch em again and so on..........!!!

(and I am aware b4 anyone jumps on me, bout Kaytie's hunting nature being a risk to Savanah)

Personally, I love my cats. They love me. They have no desire to bother my birds. And, if a vermin is brave enough to enter my home...they are all over it! So, even if they leave me a 'dead' present it is better than being over run by mice!

So, good job kitty! You get some catnip for that!

Gotta love those cats!

I lost my little Bailey girl when she was 15, and I miss her dearly.

Desperately want another, but husband says no.

I thought it was a cute story, Abby.

Well if it makes you feel any better, She dosn't eat them, Basicly she torments them (wich to her is just a game)...makes them drop their tail, then lets them go..............

I know this, cause I see the repeat offender's, Tail-less.

I think after a while they learn to not come in the house and just sit on the windows(on the outside) to torment Kaytie.
