Biggest fright of my life last night

So about two weeks ago we got a beautiful 8 month old male cat we named Tiger. We were having our couches moved because we were getting new ones. Yay! But it was about 7 ish and I asked my husband where Tiger was because at around my daughter's bedtime he comes out of hiding and follows me around the house until bed time. We looked in all of his "usual" hiding places. And EVERYWHERE else, and no Tiger. I started to panic. We moved the back of the couch and found the vent out! I was on the verge of tears. I didn't know if he had gone in there. We checked the heating system and no cat. We called and called and called, opened up his favorite food and got his treats out. We looked everywhere and no Tiger. So there was only one other option at that point. He has gotten outside somehow. I started running around the house crying. My husband and I were fighting about the whole thing and our couch was on it's way. But I was more worried about the cat. It was too dark so we put his food outside and hoped he would come back. My husband went outside to handle the couches. And I go into the diaper closet to get Charles a pull up, and I hear it. A meow! I thought I was hearing things, so I began calling for him. And low and behold he had climbed into a half closed diaper bag and was sleeping. My husband had even moved the diaper bag aside and he didn't wake up. So he climbs out looking at me like "Mom what's all the comotion?" Needless to say I was relieved, and Tiger was back. Confused as to why I was upset but content to follow me around even closer than normal. Cat's and their hiding places!

What a scare! My kitten went missing today. I was calling for him. Turns out he learned from the older cat how to get in the bin that holds the dog food and couldn't get out. lol

I lost a kitten in a "moved" couch once. Thats what I thought you were going to say happened. I found the cat months later. He moved two hours away with the couch and got out and didnt know where he was. He was adopted by a couple and I met them one day ironically. I saw the cat, now much bigger and they told me how he just wandered in one day (bout the same time I moved in) and they have loved him ever since. I knew it was him but didnt have the heart to tell them. He was loved very much. That kittens just lucky he didnt get out on the FREEWAY!!!

OMG, you are going to need 9 lives with that cat! How scary, but I am glad it all ended well. How do you like the new couch?

I love the new couch! I mean it is second hand but still it is in GREAT condition and we got a steal for it. It looks brand new. CL can be good in some scenarios.

Lori~ LOL! Luckily the couch hadn't been moved out of the house yet and I wasn't about to let it until I found the cat. In the past two weeks I have grown so attached to him. He is my little shadow. I can't go anywhere without him right at my heals.

A cat is a creature that can hide from you in an empty room. I don't know how they do it but anyone who has felt the frustration and panic of turning their entire house inside out and upside down looking for a missing cat, knows the strange mixture feeling of relief and annoyance when the cat who created such a scare, turns up serenely relaxing in some obvious place or strolls casually into the room like nothing at all has happened!!!

lol i know the feeling! my last few cats, though they have since passed, were all 100% indoors and the thought of them getting out was TERRIFYING!

Now I have Maiden who's deaf. If she gets out, she cant hear me. Being deaf makes her extremely attracted to visual things and even cars driving by on the street outside are attractive to her. I worry about my poor girl and have to be e x t r a careful to ensure she never ever gets outside!

Glad you found your Tiger.
