I must have the most uncordinated cat ever!

So Tiger has been with us for a little over three weeks I think, maybe two. And he has finally been able to be out around the dogs without getting skiddish. He is a TOTAL momma's boy, and follows at my heels all day long, and EVERYWHERE I go. Well this week he has been out alot more and we have been able to watch him just explore and what not. Well he has NO cordination what so ever. He can't even jump from our dresser to our bed (which is two feet from one another) without missing. He has a hard time with balance, and can't jump for anything. Not to mention if he is laying down somewhere and he isn't holding on with his claws he rolls right off (bed, couch, table, chair, you name it he has fallen off of it). I have no clue how normal this is nor do I care, we love him no matter what. And he is exceptional with the kids. I couldn't tell you how many times I have crept out of the bathroom to catch him laying on my daughters walker with her having a death grip on him. And he doesn't so much as meow at her. Then my three year old will try to pick him up and carry him like little kids do under his arms (the cats). And the cat will wriggle out just to his back legs and when he realizes that it's a no go he just relaxes and let's my son carry him to where ever the destination is. And he loves water, he climbed in the shower with me, and just laid there!

So either my cat doesn't realize he is a cat or hasn't learned this yet, or something happened to him when he was a tiny kitten. He was rescued as a newborn and handfed and raised by a young man until we found the ad for him on CL (yeah I know I know). His old owner didn't want to give him up, but had to due to his mom finding out the cat was the cause of her allergic reactions. And she allowed him to keep him until he found a good home. Anyone have a crazy non cat cat like us?

Our old cat Whiskers (original right?) had balance issues also. We found out that he had been hit by a car as a kitten and broken his hip, which healed wrong before he had been picked up by the pound. He walked side ways and would have problems jumping onto anything and would walk with his hind end off to the left. He was also mostly deaf, so we could scream his name behind him, and he wouldnt react. He was the best cat ever, I miss him.

We also have Pheobe, our 15 yr old female calico, who we also got from the pound, that fetches. If you throw a toy mouse or pipe cleaner (weird, right?) she will chase it and bring it back. Then wait for you to throw it again. She also talks to you. If you just say her name, she will meow back at you. Or you can just be talking in her general direction and she will meow back at you also. She is the most talkative cat I have ever seen.

I wonder if that might be the case with my guy, he was rescued off the street by the guy we got him from, he had lots of issues when he was first picked up, malnutrition and eye gook. But he was nursed back to health. I wonder if something like this may be wrong with him. We had him at the vet and the vet said everything was ok and he was healthy as a horse, but this was also before we noticed his balance issues. Tiger walks straight but he just can't jump very well (and land successfully, the jumping part he can do). Other than his balance issues he is the perfect cat. He too is very talkative, he meows through the house for me until I answer him and let him know where I am and what I am doing then he stops for a minute. He is such a cuddle bug, and sleeps right on my chest at night or right next to my belly. Which is a first for any cat I have ever owned. They usually just wanna do their own thing, not him. My husband laughs at him because if I go outside for anything he will also stand at the window watching me until I come inside then he is right at the door. He also likes to sit on my husbands shoulder and walk through the house like that. He is so funny sometimes. My husband likes to act like he is hitting me on my legs or something like that to get the dogs all riled up. I look at the dogs and tell them ouch and they react by trying to get my husband, they think it is great fun. But he can't do it around Tiger because Tiger will launch at him and hiss. Sometimes even when my husband tries to hold my hand Tiger with do that. He doesn't like sharing me with anyone but the kids, which may pose as a problem when we get out bird.
