Question She is still laying eggs?

Maxy has 9 eggs now!! Is this normal for a beginner? I thought she had stop because she layed the 6th egg on January and she did not payed them much attention but she still sat on them. I was going to take them away from her but then she started to lay more eggs. She layed the 7th one this past saturday and then she layed the eight one this week, not sure when, and I went to look at her cage this afternoon when I got home from school and I found a 9th egg. Is it normal or what? She is back to her agressive mother instinct and I don't know what to do. I am afraid that she might just keep on laying eggs. What do I need to do?

It might help if you were able to get her another cage that is different, but for now, you need to leave the eggs alone. First timers may lay a few eggs or they may lay a lot, though the 7th-9th eggs could be considered a second clutch since her first clutch didn't hatch. Leave her be, increase her amount of sleeping hours to 14, or if it's already there, increase to 16 hours of darkness a night. Once a bird starts laying it can be hard to stop.

You should remove the broken one.

Remove any broken eggs. I'd suggest waiting until this past "clutch" of eggs is ready to be abandoned then removing them, changing the cage interior around and moving the cage all together to a new location. Changing the egg laying pattern can be tough sometimes but like Monica suggested, shorter daylight hours can sometimes help to stop the pattern too.
