Ditto on what Monica said. You can sometimes find them for good prices in the paper and Craigslist but if you are looking for a baby for a low price, you wont find it. I suggest what Monica said in the other thread...save up your money for all of the supplies first and get them first then save up for the bird. Maybe buy a couple of things a week. Whether you elect to save up or look for something on Craigslist or in the newspaper its going to take some time. For the amount you want to spend, you wont find anything right away on Craigslist or in the paper but you will probably find something eventually. You just have to be patient and wait for the right one. Good luck.

Thought you were 10??? Talk to your parents about it, tell them how much they cost, cage, etc. See if you can get an allowance for cleaning up around the house, some yard work, etc.

Monica, that's great advice. Both of my daughters save their money to buy items that they'd like. Something else to think about is if you get any money for holidays, birthdays, etc. I know my girls get $20 each from hubby's parents for the holidays so that helps too.

One thing I just did (which I probably shouldn't have) was sold half of the seed that I bought (actually, I didn't buy it, though it was 40lbs, and decided to split it with someone else so that the next time it is bought, I can at least pay for half of it... also have some money saved up from last Christmas too...)

Liz, it may be easiest to talk to your parents about getting a tiel and see if maybe you could do a little extra work or something in hopes to get a bit more from your allowance.

great idea!!!! My daughter askes me if she can wash my truck and the dogs for money also. You could wash some cars or give some dogs baths when its warmer outside. You'll get some more ideas! Your doing great so far! Good luck!
