Should my tiel be eating Fruit and Veggies yet?

I ask this because my baby, Joey, is only 4 months old. When I try to get him to eat any fruits or veggies, he just hisses at them and/or flies away. I'm not sure if I should just let him be or keep trying and if so waht should I try with? Is there something that he will eat for sure?

Hi there! Welcome, and congratulations on your baby tiel! I also have a cockatiel about the same age, and he isn't eating any fruits or veggies yet either. The only thing you can do is just keep giving them and eventually he will decide that he is supposed to eat them. Mine has picked a little bit at some fresh corn - cut from the cob, but he really didn't know what to do with it. It will come in time.

Welcome Michiru! My baby tiels started eating broccoli first, then corn and toast. They also nibble on celery and silver beet. Broccoli is their fave though-maybe try that?

I was having problems getting Worple to eat vegetables. The only thing he seemed to like was broccoli. In our pet store yesterday we came across Dried Vegetables (which they say contain all the nutrients of fresh vegetables) and he seems to really like them. He is eating them as I type this.

Yes, I'm having the same problem with Spook. She will not eat any fruits or veggies that I make her. She just doesn't eat anything but her seeds.
I guess I will try dried fruits and veggies, or boccoli :-D

Try using dried fruits and veggies. Crush them up and serve with egg food. Thats how i got my picky amazon to eat veggies and fruits and now working on my teil. so far she will eat spinach. I have a dehydrater so it makes things a little easier. I also only feed the new foods in the morning when she is hungry.

I use just veggies from a company called just tomatoes because my tiel was not eating veggies at all also and he has taken to those very well.
