Unhappy male cockatiel wont sit on eggs

Hello im inexperienced at cockatiel breeding our cockatiels laid its first egg 7 days ago. so far we have four. yet for some reason our male cockatiel wont sit on the eggs. i think its because hes a little slow he didnt sit on his first set. but they were infertile anyway we have to lock the female in the cage over night because she will get off the eggs and leave them all night long. he also chases the female away from the eggs then goes on top of the cage with her. what should i do

You may want to consider leaving them locked in the cage at all times, or possibly getting a larger cage so that they have some room to stretch there wings while inside the cage...

If the hen can handle the eggs on her own, I wouldn't fret over it too much... how old is the pair? Are you sure you have a male/female pair?

Im sure my cockatiels are opposite gender there age is 2 and a half. and 3. and there cage is 5' 5' but the male just dosent like that the female sits on the eggs he is very territorial over the hole cage even when he is outside the cage and she is on the inside he still pecks at the bars by her to get her off them. should i get a heat lamp for when the female cockatiel gets of the eggs for a extended amounts of time? just want to be safe about this

If this is the first clutch they may not get it right the first time. The eggs could be infertile or may not hatch at all. They have to figure this out on their own.
