my tiel died today

Im so upset. I do not remember if I posted about chance or not but chance was a tiel. A true rescue tiel i have. He escaped original owner, was cought by a homeless person who did not care for him then the homeless person mother took the bird away from her but then decided she did not want the responsibility for the tiel and he came to my bird club then home to me
I found him dead this morning. I dont know what happen. I dont know chances age. He was singing happily last night. he even ate. then at 3 am i woke up and glanced over to his cage and found him dead on his back.
chance had just finished his quartine and i was planning on putting with the flock today.
how can a bird be singing one minute and be dead the next?

We are so sorry to hear about your loss. It might have been age,..... A necropsy from your local vet might be in order to find out why. I'm sure her happy singing will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. It sounded like he may of only been with you for a short time but he really captured your heart. It sounds like you truly made him feel safe, secure, loved, and well taken care of. Hold on to the memories and he will never completely leave you.

Sorry for the delay. I am just getting caught up on messages written. I found this one particularly intense. This message was the last post that Linda wrote on this board. If you are still reading here, Linda, I wanted to ask if there was any reason you would have awaken at 3 in the morning? I believe that Chance may have woke you up with his passing.

I have heard of this sort of thing happening before. Not to get too psychic, but this would not have been the first time that such a bond existed between a bird and its owner and the breaking of that bond may have been strong enough in itself to have awakened you. Sort of like a final farewell to you in a way?
