Accually, tiels don't do very well with other birds. Budgies are too hyperactive, and all other birds are too big. One playful or angry nip and toes or legs are amputated. A person I know on another board just had her tiel's toes bitten through the cage bars by her lovebird. There are always exceptions, but I would NEVER risk it.
Mine love to watch the finches in the next cage, but you have to do a full 30-60 day quarantine before even allowing another bird in the same room with your existing one.

Princess parrots....they are the only birds i have heard that are ok to be housed with tiels. Even then it's best they have their own space.
