Baby Update & Pictures

Oh my goodness, what a turn around Baby has made. Every day, Baby advances farther and farther.

We've moved Baby into a larger cage... Moved my two cinnamon conures into a massive flight cage and moved Baby into their old one. Hoping that in a couple of weeks, we can move Baby into a flight cage as well. As you can see from the last picture, Joe and I have made them a series of Madrone perches mounted on stands all along our picture window. The conures love it and we have been letting Baby perch there also. They have to take turns however, as the conures do not take well to Baby sharing their toys or space.

Our daily morning routine is, we take the conures, and Baby out of their cage first thing in the morning. Then they all have to poop on the kitchen floor, which gets disinfected immediately after, and they come to bed with us to have our morning coffee, watch the news, and visit, lol. It took Baby quite a while to adjust to this, but now Baby steps right up, anxious for the visit.

Baby will step up easily, and lets us put him on the perches so Baby can take advantage of the water view. Baby seems to enjoy that. Baby has also been come out by himself a couple of times to sit on top the cage, which is right by the perches.

And I'm just so excited that his feathers are growing back! Arent they lovely? Baby eats some veggies now..still no fruit but i just keep offering. And he's accustomed to having me give him a bath in the sink with the sprayer really low...more like a drizzle, lol

Still a long way to go but i'm so thrilled Baby has made such advances.

We're not certain if Baby is a male or female as Baby is just over 3 months old.

I don't think I particularly care for Baby's clip... however, he/she is gorgeous!

I'm so glad Baby is doing so well. (Monica - remember? - Baby is the tiel they got when someone else bought it from the pet store, butchered it's wings and decided they didn't want it anymore? Here's the link to the thread in case anyone hasn't read it and wants to Sigh...3rd Home in a week!)

Baby looks as if he/she is settling in well. I'm sure he will get more confident as time goes by, he had quite a traumatic start! Keep up the good work!

What a lucky Baby to have you. I have a tiel named Babybird. She's a yellow cheek cinnamon pearl. I love your set up for your birds. What kind of water view do you have there? I might have missed it from another post.

I knew I was missing something!!! Was just too tired to do a little extra research! (had forgotten a bit... have some things going on here....) Yes, now I remember Baby! So glad though to hear things going so well!

We live in Washington State, right on the water, the Strait of Juan De Fuca. It separates the US from Vancouver Island, BC.

As far as the clip job, I can't take credit for that... But I am thrilled to see that Baby has grown in two beautiful feathers...

Joe and I are such proud parents, lol.... to see baby make such advances. We were really worried about whether Baby would make a comeback.
