New tiel meeting other tiel Opinions please

Looking for input. I have a 5-6 month old tiel that I have had for about 1 1/2 months. He is not yet tame, but has gotten better. eats millet from my hand and has gotten up on me a couple of times, but is very timid.

Now I just got another tiel thru adoption who is 1 year old. This tiel has been checked by a vet and all is normal. I want to bond with this new tiel who is very tame and loving. I feel bad since the new tiel is being quarantined in another room that I don't spend a lot of time in, I would like to bring her into the livingroom with me but I am afraid that being around the other tiel will keep her from bonding with me.

What does everyone think and have you gone through the same thing?

If you handle both daily, then both should become tame. You may want to continue quarantine just to be on the safe side though.

I've got a few birds who are tame, but who have buddies... or ones that are semi-tame in that they'll eat from my hand but not much more. And then there's some who have no buddies, and refuse to buddy up with another bird, but do enjoy being around humans if not directly interacting with them.

In short though, as long as you continue handling them frequently, they shouldn't revert to being "wild".
