In reference to (Feeling drained, sad worried, about my babies) LOUISE Update

(read thread....Feeling drained, sad worried, about my babies... for more background about this)

As I said the other day she went down to 65 grams after coming home from hosp. Since crop feeding her yesterday her poop has turned back to normal, (WAS black and very little, and she hardly ate) and this mornings weight was 71 grams.

Still a long way to go. I hate crop feeding her as I am so scared I will do something wrong and hurt or kill her. I believe I have the hang of it though.

I have been so sad and crying at the drop of a hat when thinking about loosing her. Yesterday was my 20th wedding anniversary, and all I could think of was Louise. We didn't do much except look after her.

After her illness started around Christmas time it has been a roller coaster ride. This is the worst she has been. I am hopping with the crop feeding she will regain her strength. It looks favorable at the moment, but that can change any time. Vigilance is the key.

Please prey for us

Update

Been crying a lot lately seeing her like this, but I am very hopeful at the moment as she has improved.

Well put Louise to bed last night after her 3rd crop feeding for the Day.

Weighed 80gms

Still have to check her this morning when I wake her. Hopefully see maintained most of it during the night.

Keeping room 85 to 90 degrees as vet suggested
3 crop feedings a day (about 3 cc each)
each feeding mixed with unflavored pedialite (electrolyte solution)
Giving meds from the vet for nausea
Massaging crop after each feeding

Keeping food down
Gaining weight very slowly (but is gaining)
No vomiting for a week now.
Ever so slightly more flesh developing in chest area
Starting to preen again
Starting to preen mate a little
Starting to eat pellets a little bit
Giving her her favorite (fresh millet) 1/2 teaspoon only. She dive bombs it eagerly.
Takes feeding pretty well and enjoys the warm blanket and cuddle for 30 mins after.
Mate totally devoted to her staying close to give her his body heat at all times.

I have a makeshift incubator made with fish tank, heating pad, fish tank air pump, screen lid and tank light (heat source) thermometer.

Keep her in there during the day (with mate) so I can watch her and monitor her poops

I will update regularly as soon as I can .
Still scared of losing her though, so please keep praying for her.

well today after 1st crop feeding she weighed 81

maintained her weight after pooping all day yesterday at 76 grams.
hope to get her to maintain 78 grams today after all her pooping that is.
she seems to be going up about 2 grams a day, which is great.

she is getting more flesh back on her chest as well which is fantastic.

Her poops are perfectly normal now so that is a relief, shows she is processing enough food.

still crop feeding her
starting to get feisty, gives me what for when she sees those syringes.(good sign)

I don't blame her, who would like to have a syringe down their throat
starting to really interested in eating again.

I will send pics as soon as I can. Kinda got my hands full at the moment.
