So far there hasn't been a home applicable paint that I would use. Call the manufacturer before allowing your tiels access to it. If there is any lead or zinc at all in the paint, it is not safe.

I read your original post again and realized you said the cage was only 1 foot wide. That's really small. Cockatiels are about 8" long, so your birds are going to have trouble moving around in such a narrow cage.

Again, that is why I said it is too small. Again, the plastic netting is dangerous as well. They can and will chew it, possibly ingesting pieces which would harm or kill them.

my dear Xen,
yes, absolutely u r right, but, i hope, u r not reading all the questions of mine. as i am an INDIAN, how it could me that, to become ENGLISH as MY FIRST LANGUAGE???? is this portal is only for those, who is considering ENGLISH as HIS/HER FIRST LANGUAGE?????

and my dear tre and christie99, hope i have got mistaken abt the measurement, that, it is 18inch in width, 20inch in height and 24inches in length. well, hve put my two tiels in this, well, they are comfort inside, hope so. and as the bottom, i have put aluminum net.so, altogether (aluminum net, channels, revet and plastic(heavy duty) net, wht i am feeling is, restless and easy to carry and clean.
i have put, two swings inside, and put a knotted sisal rope, frm upside like hanging inside.but the fact, present is, they are not even looking at any of these. hope, slowly they will get affection with all of these, including me.now, i am happy that, it can recognize the food tray, wh is in yellow colored. whenever i am putting millet/sunflower seeds or even brown rice seeds inside this container, after placing this inside, they will come to this, and having food.but, not letting me to touch them, at least

I don't remember saying this forum was for people who speak English as a first language only! You being in India doesn' mean that you're not originally from England, Australia.... Japan or Africa. I don't assume! I merely said that by your replies it doesn't sound like you're understanding the dangers of that home made cage that people are telling you of. Ask them questions WHY the 'cage' set up or construction is bad for the birds if you don't fully understand! You don't seem willing to learn from their knowledge of what a 'tiel needs so why ask in the first place!?

So please, don't try and insinuate I'm saying something that I'm not, OK!
