I'm too chicken even to pull a feather much less trim his nails. When I had a retired greyhound I used to trim her nails and she made a big deal (and a big mess) if I trimmed to close to the vein. I figure, since I am not doing any breeding, I may just live with the illusion that both birds are mail unless I see evidence to the contrary. Of course, curiosity could get the best of me and I'll cave. Is it real expensive to have a vet do it?

I don't know what a vet cost but you would figure you have to pay for an appointment. So I would bet a vet would cost a bit more.. Your pet store should it for you for about $25. If you do it yourself it's $19.50 I don't plan on breeding either but it is really nice when you know for sure. I had Echo done last year and was glad to know that when he says good boy he's correct.
