Poor thing must have been near death! 40 grams for a cockatiel is way too little!!! Cockatiels should weigh on average between 80-100 grams... I haven't gotten any lost birds though it's pretty horrible to bring in an underweight bird and trying to get the bird to eat more food and healthier food as well! Such a pitty many owners do not care that greatly for the well being of the birds and only think them of so as only needing seed...
