Tweety comes to mind... Clawnz may have pictures.
Besides breaking the feet and resetting them, I'm not sure of anything else that could be done... although soft perches such as cotton rope may help elleviate any pain... and providing flat surfaces for her to half on. With the way her foot looks, I'd have to say that they did the band removal wrong... band removal, once a bird is an adult, requires *CLIPPING* the band off, not forcing it off...

Very pretty bird!!
The only concern I have is that pressure sore on her foot. I would definitely keep her on soft perches because that pressure sore can become infected. Watch it carefully. I can't believe someone would do that to a bird! I can't imagine the pain she felt when they broke her foot. Poor baby!

I know, my jaw must have literally dropped when she told me they took it off. When my 2 budgies passed, I kept the bands. But I had a very hard time, and could not slip it off. My husband slipped them off, took him a long time, and he didn't want to hurt them, even though they had passed. My point being I can't imagine doing this to a living, breathing terrified bird. And she is so very sweet. We keep food and water at all levels of the cage, and are going to look for flat perches, or the rope as suggested.

thats horrible they broke her foot! I hope she feels better soon!
I want to take Cookie's band off, but i would never hurt her like that, or even attempt it myself! Can vets do it for you!? Cookie's had hers caught on a toy and i had to help her.. i dont think they're very safe.

Yep, broken foot. My Ash has the same type of injury, only his was caused by a poor cage with the person I rescued him from.
My vet said there wasn't much I could do for his poor foot. I keep the nails trimmed and he has a variety of perches, rope, wood, natural wood, and a sun platform to choose from. They are quite adaptable. Here is a picture of Ash's foot, not a great photo of him, but you can see the foot. Ugh, the direct photo isn't working. Here is the URL for it. http://www.christiessite.com/ashfoot I find that he does not like to step up onto a curved surface, like a branch or finger, but will willingly step up onto a flat hand. I would worry about the pressure sore on her foot. Make sure it is clean and see if the vet wants you to treat it with anything. You can get vet wrap to wind around the dowel perches to make them softer and give her more stability. Just watch for loose spots that can catch toes.

Properly sized bands are very safe. Many breeders are lazy though and purchase a "too big" band so they can band the chicks later. A closed band needs to be put on a small bird sometime around a week old.

My vet told me there is too much chance of breaking my tiels leg/foot if she was to try to take their bands off (I want them to be comfortable). So I said, nevermind, leave it on. Sometimes they seem to itch around it. I dearly hope they never get caught on a toy. It is really soooooo terrible that someone negligently just broke her foot! I mean honestly, people should be sued for such behaviors.

Indeed, some people do not deserve such a special pet. But it is surely healed, for a long time. You'd think after the initial trouble getting it off as they started, they would realize to remove it in that fasion would cause harm.

You would think, but there are still ignorant people out there.
Closed bands are a great way to identify your bird if they ever escape. My oldest tiel has always worn one. It is similar to wearing a well fitting bracelet to us, once you have it on, you forget about it.
