Sexing babies

Okay.
In the future, I plan to hopefully breed Taz and Casper. Now, I understood sexing babies from Sunny & Tia's clutches, but seeing as Taz and Casper are both Whiteface mutations, i'm a little confused XD

I used the cockatiel colour palette to get their results, but I just need some help understanding them.
Quote:
Mother:Whiteface Cinnamon
Father:Pied Whiteface

male offspring:
100% Whiteface Split To Pied {X2: Cinnamon}

female offspring:
100% Whiteface Split To Pied
Soooo, what does this mean? XD I'm still learning all of this :D

It means the chicks will visually be a whiteface bird, with the genes to produce pied offspring when paired with a proper mate. The cinnamon I believe is sex linked in that case so one of those cocks paired with a hen that is not cinnamon may produce 1-2 in a clutch that would be cinnamon hens.

Taz is a Whiteface Pied. Casper is believed to be an Albino (Whiteface Lutino) Cinnamon, and no clue on other mutations. The results, visually, are not different, but the genetics are.

Quote:
Mother:Whiteface Cinnamon Lutino
Father:Pied Whiteface

male offspring:
100% Whiteface Split To Pied {X2: Cinnamon Lutino}

female offspring:
100% Whiteface Split To Pied
If there are no hidden splits or visuals, all offspring will be visual whitefaces.

All your chicks will be whiteface grey. All chicks will carry the pied gene, and males will also carry the cinnamon gene.

If you get any pied chicks it means that your hen is split pied, and if you get any sex-linked colors (cinnamon, lutino, pearl) it means that your male is split to the color(s). If your male is split cinnamon you can get both male and female cinnamon chicks, but if he's split to lutino or pearl you will only get females in those colors. With sex-linked colors, girls only have to receive the gene from their father to show the color but males have to get the gene from both parents. Girls can't be split to a sex-linked color so your hen definitely does not have the lutino or pearl gene.

Unless..... she's visual. Casper is a whiteface lutino that shows some brown within her wings and tail feathers, thus it is assumed she is also cinnamon...
Casper's colour

But I personally haven't heard of albinos being able to also show cinnamon within their feathers, but I don't know of any other mutations in cockatiels that would show a completely white bird. (we can't include clear pieds, because I'm sure they wouldn't show any color at all)

Ah, the complexity of genetics...phenotype, genotype, recessive, dominant, allele, gene, mutation, selective breeding...it so complicated!!! (and don't come in and say "it's actually quite simple" because I don't feel like using my brain! )

The OP says the hen is whiteface cinnamon. So she's not visual for lutino or pearl unless something very unusual is going on.
