Unhappy Lovey hurt his foot

Hi guys,

Unfortunately Lovey hurt his foot today and got it on the door...yikes...it was bleediing like crazy with skin peeling off...unfortunately its weekend so no dr...So far I have applied cornstarch on his foot and held it for A VERY LONG TIME with gauze pads to stop bleeding...it stops but starts when he peels his skin off...so distracting him from that too...sleeping for righ tnow....

mom has gone to buy first aid kit for babies...so that we can put ointment and bandage on his foot for him not to try and peel his skin off...

any other suggestions? plz guide!!! Thank You!!!!

That is terrible! Please tell us what door he got caught in, and how.
I can only say keep up the cornstarch.
I did read that if you can keep their foot in a paper towel with the cornstach/flour in it.
or a bowl your Tiel can stand in.
Some places have after hour Vet service?

Im sorry to hear about the foot! If the bleeding doesnt stop, you need to take him to a vet.

I agree, there should be an emergency number for your vet. When my hen hurt her toe (caused by a person while I wasn't home) it took a vet visit on Saturday to get the bleeding to stop. She also needed a collar to keep her from picking at it.

I did guys...I took him to the vet...they have given him antibiotics...and said foot is pretty bad and if he doesnt start healing by monday then they might have to do surgery...
SO PLEASE PRAY THAT MY LOVEY BABY GETS WELL BY MONDAY AND THERE WILL BE NO SURGERY NEEDED...

ALL IN PAIN AND TEARS FOR RIGHT NOW...HOPE MONDAY IS GOOD NEWS DAY!!!

Glad that he saw the vet. I hope that his foot heals quickly and doesn't need surgery. Have you fixed the spot on the cage he got hurt on? Can it be fixed?

Does he seem like a small, regular or large tiel to you? Normal is around 90g, but there are extremes either way.
