Could my cockatiel be sick? Help!

Last night my cockatiel had a night fright and broke a blood feather. I was able to get the bleeding to stop and put flour on it. She's not tamed though so this was difficult and she seemed shaken up by it. Today she seemed to be ok but now she is kind of puffed up on her swing and sleeping. We called the vet about the blood feather and they said if she isn't bleeding to just keep an eye on her but now I'm concerned.

I agree with the vet. Having night fright can be a horrible experience for a bird. add onto that the pain of breaking a blood feather (cause my birds scream endlessly when they break them) and the stress of you having to restrain them while you pull out one of their feathers. She's probably just still shaken up. If you caught the blood feather right when it happened then I doubt she lost a significant amount of blood.

Thank you. She's just sitting around her cage now in different perches. The blood was wet and I heard her flapping around so I caught it very quickly. I'm just a very big worrier.

She's probably exhausted. Let her rest and just make sure it doesn't start bleeding again (but don't stress her out). She should be better in a day or so. (IMHO... keep in mind I'm not really qualified to give medical advice)

Can anyone help me?

I own a cockatiel that is normally very loud, the last few days he has been very qiuet and today he seems to be moving around less and very slow. His balance is also poor and he eat and drank very little. Can there be a connection to the fact that the weather changed (it rained a little and became chilly)? Does it sound like the bird is sick? Can it be he got too cold at some point in the last couple days?
