And the basic canteen cage, with Tweety in the pix.

And Not forgetting Tweety, lost, but still love of my life. One very good looking young girl.

Tweety, the old man

Ash and Unix

Baby bird (at another home) Ash and Unix's only offspring

All three of my tiels. you can see the edge of their cage on the right, the chair Tweety is sitting on is a full sized rocking chair. The cage is 5 feet tall. The one they are sitting on is the old finch cage, it is not escape proof so I got rid of it.

Just for fun, the Indian Ringneck, Princess Buttercup:

My Cockatiels are in my siggy but here's a photo of their cage.. it's a double stack so there's two seperate compartments, the girls are in the top and the boys on the bottom.

Of course you wouldn't need one that big.. unless you were planning on getting more but for 1 Cockatiel, a HQ flight cage would be the best.

I am in NZ so not much good to you re cages.
Ebay is a good place to start.
Opinions seem to favor the HQ cages in the USA, while down this way it seems to be the AVI 604 cages.
Mine is just a piece of ----, flimsy and weak. Two cages built into one, as I did not like the tall cages, and was looking for more horizontal flying space. And I did plan on two Tiels in this cage. Now all it holds is food and water.
I did like the quote 'Birds are not Helicopters' and cannot fly straight up and down.
