had a lovey scare

so couple of days ago i shared lovey having a surgery of his toe...which was removed...

today his bandage was taken off but he was bleedinga lil by night...of course night...we caleld his hospital no vets available to see him and ALL the numbers of emergencies they gave dont see birds...how lame is that..a hospital with birds as pet dont have emegernecy numbers for bird hospitals...how lame huh?

and the dumb nurses said they cant call the vets after hours...i mean come on...this is an emergency...and the vet herself said in his todays appt that if he picks on it and starts to bleed plzz bring him...so these lame nurses didnt help...but thankfull they had left the vet voicemail with our number to contact us if they can...

i love our vet..she DID reply and guided us...and asked us to bring him tomorrow so they can put collar on him...sucks my baby has to go through such painful time...diff story i am broke lol...

but oh well as long as my baby is healthy...

my baby scare...sigh!!!! i hate having these scares..*tears*

Please pray for my baby to be healthy and wealthy...he was healing quickly and nicely but this collar thing is scaring me but if we dont ut the collar on him hes gonna pick on his wound...but the vet said that we cant put any bandage on his wound anymore cuz it needs to heal w/o it...thanks fo rlistenin guys

The collar will be fine. When my hen was injured she needed one too. It takes them some time to figure it out, but they adjust pretty quickly. Just make sure that he can eat and drink with it on.

the surgery was about 200 $ plus first ever check up with meds was about 119$ and the follows ups for bandage is about 21$...

so its expensive but reasonably...the vets are awesome i have to say...they know what they are doing...no fakes...

Hate to say it but that's pretty standard. In my area, there are no emergency avian vets after hours. We have 4 or 5 avian vets in the area, however perhaps only 2-3 that are *QUALIFIED* a-vets. There's probably no emergency avian vets who work after hours in your area. It's as simple as that.

As for calling the vet... well, that's also bad business practices, unless of course the vet agrees it's okay to do so. Most vets have had a pretty stressful day at work, and don't need to "deal" with more after work. They need time to rest and enjoy what they have left of their day. If they had to deal with every issue that came up, they'd never be at home!

Sorry the receptionists/technicians weren't of any help, but glad at least from this post (old, I know) that your tiel is healing! And please, don't blame the techs for doing only what they could do!
