I'm about 100 miles south of Jacksonville. Haven't been out to the land since Jeanne came through, although it weathered Charley and Frances with no problems. May even have taken down a couple of trees for me. It certainly outlined the areas needing to be elevated before construction.
The concept is starting already. This Sunday I'm being given three parakeets who were dumped on a young lady who isn't up to taking care of them. A friend of mine who wants them is going with me, so I'll just introduce the two of them and bow out. This lady has had a cockatiel for the past 24 years (still going strong) and is the one who takes care of my guys when I'm away and can't take them with me, so these little fellas will have a wonderful new home.
I'll let you know, Joel, when it's time for a "hand."
