New Sparkie

Hi
we have just got our 8 week old sparkie on friday he had been hand reared and seems to be settling in fine. He will eat from our hands but with no food trying to get him to step up he seems to try and bite, nothing to hard im sure this is him just being unsure of just a bit scared.
How long should we wait till we let him out ? I have read lots about first bringing a cockatiel into a new home and some say weeks and some say after a few days.
im sure this is normal behaviour for a baby but any advise would be good

Are you talking about a cockatiel or a cockatoo? (Since you posted this under "cockatoo" experts, I had to ask.)

If your new baby is a cockaTIEL, it should only take a few DAYS to adapt. But you should start working with him after one or two days at the most.

If you're talking about a cockatiel, please post your question in the cockatiel section. Thanks!
