Need playstand help
I am looking for some advice about a playstand. I have 6 parrots but the primary playstand occupants will be a Mollucan Cockatoo (Mango) and a Milligold Macaw (Gonzo). I currently have a plain T-stand with a wooden dowel and round tray. The round tray works nicely at catching messes and preventing the birds from climbing down but the dowel has to be replaced often & the perch is quite boring for them. I first considered a manzanita playstand with several levels of perches but I cannot find one that has a tray in the middle. I am afraid that if I don't get a playstand with a tray in the middle, Mango will just climb right down onto the floor & the playstand will be useless. I also considered an elevated orthobird perch with a tray in the middle but it has 4 legs which are placed very close to the edge of the tray, and in my mind I see Mango peeking over the edge & climbing right down the leg of the stand. What do you all use to keep your cockatoos on their stands? I want something fun & interesting for them, but something they cannot climb off of & run rampant through the home chewing up cabinets and couches! They are in the room with me when on their playstands but I am sometimes busy cooking, straightening up, etc. so I need to know they won't be continuously climbing down everytime my back is turned. Thanks for any help. Missy. P.S. a little trick I use to catch mess that makes it past the tray is a clear, plastic shower curtain liner from the dollar tree placed underneath the playstand. It has been a lifesaver for my floors, easily washed, magnets keep it weighted down, and when it finally wears out it is only a dollar to replace.
