C2 Sneezing

I have a citron crested cockatoo that sneezes when she sits on my chest or near my face . She dose not sneeze if she is in hre cage or on her play gym only when near my face. I thought that it was behavioral but don't know. Going to talk to the vet tomorrow. Thank you

Do you use any sort of after shave, lotion or cologne? Maybe she's allergic to that - if you use any of it? Changed soaps recently? Or maybe she just likes your reaction to her sneezing? Just the things that came to mind. Will be good to see what the vet. has to say.

Sorry, just realized this is posted in the experts section. I'm no expert for any bird and have never owned a 'too of any kind!

Are you sure she is sneezing, or is she imitating a human sneeze? Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference. Many of my parrots immitate my coughs and sneezes perfectly! Clues that she may be having a reaction to something would be a nasal discharge and head shaking in addition to sneezing, but absense of these things wouldn't rule out sneezing. You're right to want to talk to a vet, just in case.

Since this was posted last week, hopefully you have talked to your vet to see if there are any medical issues. It is possible that if she's sneezing, she is sensitive to something you are wearing or something that's at least near by when she sits with you. You could try eliminating some of your cosmetics or other toiletry products one-at-a-time to see if it makes a difference.
