Do Galah's do better with friends?

Whenever we (me and wife) take our Galah to Parrots of the World (store we bought her at) she seems to love to interact with the other Galah's there. She bobs her head up and down and tries to get closer to them. There's one that she seems to have made friends with in particular. It comes over and they interact with each other through the cage bars. It's really cute to watch. At home she seems less excited, even shy and lonely. So, does anyone with Galah experience think that two would be better for each other. I mean as far as playing and chasing each other around, etc.

I know my TAG doesn't care for any other birds-she's more likely to attack another bird. She just wants to be with me and that's it. So, are Galah's different. Do they need companionship of their own kind?

Galah's do well with other birds, we had a galah who got hit by a car and could never fly again. She became tame but when we would have her out in the yard the other wild galahs would come down and eat with her, was so cute. She might become less tame though if you put another bird in with her as she might try and bond with the bird. But Galah's usually are pretty good with it so yes they do do well with other Galah's but watch them first.
Our galah cage was outside and there was a mouse that used to eat the seed in the bottom and she used to get down the bottom and eat with the mouse lol.
Galah's are really underrated birds i think. they make one of the best pets. I want another one one day.

I know they can be put in together but i wouldn't put 2 birds in together anyway unless they were love birds or finches, maybe budgies. My tiel used to have to live with another tiel for a few years and he hated it. Where as the other tiel loved him. Personally I wouldnt but you could give it a go, but for training and bonding purposes and needing their own space i wouldnt.

altho i can not afford a second Galah, I've found that Tango and my Grey Zuppy are great friends, even playing with each other through the bars of the cage, it has really made a huge different in both birds having the other to play with

It depends on the bird, but it appears your Galah is communicating that indeed it would like a friend. The question: Are you prepared to become second fiddle? You may be replaced in the primary role, but also keep in mind that Galah's are incredibly gregarious, so you most likely will not be completely written out of the program.

P.S. I'm a huuuuge Galah fan!
